Budr Cannabis

Developing the website for Budr Cannabis presented a unique challenge as it marked my official venture into the cannabis industry and took place amid Connecticut’s recent legalization. Negotiating regulatory restrictions on specific words and phrases added complexity. Despite limitations on explicitly stating the non-intoxicating nature of marijuana (because people obviously aren’t smoking weed to get high), I wrote the entire website. Through client interviews, I captured their desired tone and messaging. The clients sought a balance between an engaging, playful tone infused with educational content. This creative nature manifested in headlines like "Higher Education" and "Let the Good Times (Pre) Roll." The website's success was evident during the grand opening, with positive public feedback on the copy.
